Ana reached the last eight of the East West Bank Classic with a 6-2, 6-2 thrashing of world No.24 Lucie Safarova.The 19-year-old recovered from a 40-0 deficit on Safarova's serve in the opening game and immediately broke. She missed a break point opportunity in the third game, but converted another in the seventh to seal a double break. She comfortably served out the set.Ana, seeded third here, kept the pressure on the Czech player and scored another break in the third game of the second set. She never looked back and added a further break in the fifth game before serving out the match inside 67 minutes.The world No.5 has made a most impressive return to action, having not played since Wimbledon, and faces her former doubles partner Maria Kirilenko in the quarter-finals on Friday.Click here for live point-by-point scoring from California.
