Ana was again happy with her performance after beating Vera Dushevina 6-1, 6-3 in the third round of the US Open. The teenager moves into round four for the first time in her short career, and has dropped just 10 games in the process.

“I'm really happy with the result,” said Ana. “She's a tough opponent. “She played good the last couple of matches, so I expected a tough match out there. But I was really happy with the result. It’s always nice to get through like this. I played some good tennis.”

As always, Ana’s cheerful disposition shone throughout her post-match press conference, so much so that journalists addressed her positive nature directly. “In the press conferences you’re very smiley, kind, sweet,” one journalist said as he began a question.

“Also I have, I think, a pretty good chance in the next round. It’s a tough draw, but I’m playing well at the moment, so I have all the reasons to be happy.”

One reporter, who had most likely read Ana’s latest diary entry, asked the 19-year-old about her recent turn as a journalist at the Wilson party, where she interviewed among others Roger Federer. “It was exciting,” said Ana.

“It was the first time I did something like that. The Tennis Channel asked me to do a feature with me, so I accepted. Also during the night, I was going around and interviewing a few people. I got an interview with Roger. That was great.

“I asked him about New York, how much he’s enjoying party. I was actually very surprised to find out that he enjoys shopping. He was a lot of fun. I felt weird asking him questions. But it was something different. He was really good actually.”

Ana vs Dushevina

Ana faces world No.58 Vera Dushevina in the third round of the US Open today. The match is scheduled as the second on Louis Armstrong Stadium and should begin sometime after 12.45pm local time (6.45pm Central European Time).

It will be the sixth contest between the two. Ana leads the head-to-head series 3-2, with Dushevina triumphing on the first two occasions, and Ana the last three. That includes a three-set victory in the first round here last year.

Ana said: "I know her game pretty well. She can be very dangerous and she's also won her first two matches in straight sets, so she's obviously in good form. If I can play like I have so far here, and even improve some areas, then I'm confident I can move through."

The winner of the match meets the winner of the Venus Williams-Alona Bondarenko tie in round four.

Reporter for the night! / August 30, 2007

This tournament is a little bit crazy. It’s so different to the other Grand Slams – a lot noisier and it seems like there is less time, because it takes so long to get to the club, then back to the hotel.

It’s strange that travelling, which is basically just sitting down and doing nothing, can be tiring, but it’s true.

It’s been a very interesting week. A lot has happened, especially at the weekend. I took part in Kids Day on Saturday, which was a lot of fun. I was quite nervous beforehand, but in the end it was very enjoyable. This wrestler John Cerna that played with us was huge. And Roddick, he was hitting some very, very hard serves at me during the warm-up!

I noticed that Roddick was fooling around and pretending to fight him. I think that the wrestler should have picked him up. That would have been funny.

On Saturday evening I became a journalist – I interviewed other players at the Wilson party. The Tennis Channel filmed it, and I understand it will be shown next month. I had a great time doing that: I interviewed Federer, Venus Williams and Novak Djokovic. Of course I know Novak very well, so I had to ask him one of my own questions, as well as the ones they had instructed me to ask.

Being on the other side of the media was fun. I can tell that if I were a reporter, I would ask difficult questions to players – it’s more fun that way!

I stayed a little longer than I usually do at parties, because I loved the music. The place was quite crowded. There was a special area for players, guarded by some very serious looking security guys. They always seem to take their jobs a bit too seriously – of course they should make sure no one is going where they shouldn’t, but is it in their job description that they are not allowed to smile!?

明晚(31.8.2007)將會係大結局,一早己知結局係蔡少芬Jackie既手術失敗,但今晚既劇情各演員表現,令到我真係唔捨得蔡少芬Jackie,而吳啟華Paul個種親手去主宰自己最深愛既人生命個種忐忑不安既心情,亦都可以話恰到好處.
從過去一個星期多既追看,由Background Music到一D對白及演員演出,一如上一段續談己提及,不否認令我回憶到好多"人"和"事",有開心與唔開心,特別係..........!!!要去封存或Delete一D自己認為係深刻回憶既片段或Files,係唔容易既一件事,將段回憶越放得耐,就會越唔捨得洗去.呢個我諗係每一個人都有既經驗.

探 針 ： 不 要 用 「 發 展 」 做 藉 口

皇 后 碼 頭 能 拆 不 能 拆 ， 掀 起 軒 然 大 波 ； 拆 了 之 後 ， 居 然 還 有 某 青 年 團 體 立 即 出 了 一 個 「 保 育 與 發 展 」 的 問 卷 調 查 報 告 公 告 天 下 ， 說 是 「 當 發 展 與 保 育 須 有 所 取 捨 時 ， 有 百 分 之 五 十 的 受 訪 者 認 為 應 該 以 發 展 為 優 先 ， 保 育 為 優 先 的 只 有 百 分 之 二 十 四 。 」 筆 者 聽 到 這 條 新 聞 時 最 吃 驚 的 是 ， 在 組 織 調 查 者 的 主 觀 論 調 ， 保 育 和 發 展 似 乎 是 「 家 路 窄 」 ， 取 其 一 不 能 取 其 二 ， 而 事 實 呢 ？ 筆 者 在 研 究 生 階 段 修 讀 的 正 好 是 「 發 展 和 環 境 政 策 」 ， 我 的 英 國 導 師 講 過 一 個 非 常 典 型 的 案 例 ， 他 問 我 們 如 果 就 餐 ， 我 們 會 選 擇 一 次 性 餐 具 ， 用 完 就 丟 掉 ， 還 是 選 擇 用 普 通 瓷 器 餐 具 ， 然 後 清 洗 ？ 以 一 般 的 環 保 看 法 ， 我 們 沒 如 何 想 ， 就 回 答 說 當 然 是 選 擇 後 者 。 可 是 導 師 說 ， 不 是 的 ！ 因 為 清 洗 餐 具 一 般 會 用 到 化 學 清 潔 劑 和 水 ， 化 學 清 潔 劑 會 滲 入 土 壤 ， 對 自 然 的 破 壞 不 亞 於 丟 棄 一 次 性 餐 具 ， 至 於 水 ， 你 使 用 就 已 經 在 消 耗 自 然 環 境 中 的 資 源 。 他 還 說 ， 如 果 一 次 性 餐 具 是 再 造 紙 張 做 的 ， 即 是 可 分 解 再 製 造 ， 那 相 對 來 說 可 能 比 用 普 通 瓷 器 餐 具 還 環 保 。 導 師 提 醒 我 們 這 兩 種 選 擇 ， 兩 個 方 面 都 存 在 ， 為 何 「 不 能 使 用 一 次 性 餐 具 」 的 論 點 那 麼 被 接 受 呢 ？ 這 就 是 它 被 利 用 並 宣 揚 了 。
不 能 只 宣 揚 一 面
這 個 例 子 在 十 年 間 不 斷 地 提 醒 我 ， 事 物 有 它 的 高 度 複 雜 性 ， 需 要 辯 證 地 分 析 看 待 ， 但 同 時 間 ， 我 們 必 須 切 記 不 能 事 事 因 為 物 有 兩 面 而 不 停 地 拿 自 己 需 要 的 那 一 面 來 做 藉 口 並 加 以 宣 揚 。 多 年 前 ， 筆 者 參 加 過 致 力 環 保 的 非 政 府 機 構 ， 代 表 機 構 和 很 多 大 陸 學 者 開 兩 地 環 保 會 議 ， 記 得 印 象 最 深 的 是 ， 港 方 提 出 一 些 具 體 的 環 保 建 議 ， 中 方 都 沒 多 大 興 趣 ， 大 部 份 大 陸 學 者 口 徑 一 致 ： 大 陸 首 先 需 要 的 是 發 展 ， 發 展 難 免 需 要 破 壞 環 境 ， 環 保 可 以 是 發 展 了 之 後 才 做 的 事 。 他 們 在 複 雜 的 情 形 中 ， 輕 易 地 為 自 己 找 到 了 藉 口 ─ ─ 「 發 展 」 ， 這 個 詞 成 了 學 者 專 家 們 延 緩 很 多 環 保 工 作 和 政 策 的 最 堂 皇 的 宣 之 詞 。
發 展 失 衡 影 響 大
從 前 面 這 個 不 權 威 的 青 年 問 卷 調 查 被 主 流 媒 體 廣 泛 報 道 的 那 一 刻 ， 我 恍 然 大 悟 ， 而 今 在 皇 后 碼 頭 事 件 中 ， 拆 的 那 一 方 給 自 己 找 的 還 是 多 年 前 大 陸 學 者 所 祭 的 經 典 旗 幟 ， 就 好 像 一 搖 這 面 旗 幟 ， 就 啥 問 題 都 解 決 了 。 某 些 人 也 在 「 保 育 與 發 展 」 本 可 以 河 水 不 犯 井 水 的 兩 項 選 擇 中 ， 按 己 所 需 ， 硬 拉 「 發 展 」 出 來 做 藉 口 了 。 我 很 想 告 訴 他 們 ， 當 年 那 些 內 地 學 者 在 今 天 面 對 的 ， 是 嚴 重 到 需 要 很 多 年 才 能 補 救 的 問 題 ； 當 年 他 們 不 理 排 污 ， 今 年 太 湖 的 水 臭 到 不 能 喝 ； 當 年 他 們 不 願 談 論 排 放 控 制 和 車 輛 控 制 ， 今 天 大 陸 很 多 地 區 一 年 四 季 也 見 不 到 藍 天 。 在 香 港 的 「 古 蹟 」 、 「 文 化 」 及 「 公 共 空 間 」 一 系 列 急 需 做 好 長 遠 的 政 策 打 算 時 ， 「 發 展 」 決 不 宜 因 為 當 前 問 題 而 被 拿 來 作 藉 口 。 拆 掉 皇 后 碼 頭 的 最 大 考 量 是 中 環 填 海 工 程 ， 而 我 們 也 在 各 種 團 體 的 建 議 中 ， 見 過 不 拆 除 碼 頭 也 可 繼 續 工 程 的 可 能 論 證 ， 足 以 證 明 所 謂 「 發 展 必 須 凌 駕 於 保 育 」 的 虛 偽 性 。 多 年 前 那 些 大 陸 專 家 們 提 出 的 「 一 切 應 讓 路 於 發 展 」 的 後 果 ， 我 們 在 今 日 已 需 強 烈 反 思 它 對 社 會 的 深 遠 影 響 ， 香 港 做 為 一 個 具 有 國 際 視 野 的 城 市 ， 在 保 育 政 策 上 居 然 還 在 老 調 重 彈 ， 實 在 是 可 悲 、 可 嘆 。

Ana eases into round three

Ana moved into the third round of the US Open with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-1 victory over world No.61 Aravane Rezai. The teenager won eight straight games as she recovered from a 3-1 deficit to advance in just 65 minutes.

Fifth-seeded Ana made a slow start, losing the opening three points after Rezai had put her into serve. The 20-year-old broke then held serve and was 3-1 ahead after 20 minutes.

Two consecutive aces – she served seven in total – proved to be the catalyst for Ana's recovery as she reeled off the next eight games, displaying impressive defence to absorb the Frenchwoman's not inconsiderable power.

After she had done so, Ana became dominant. She cut out the early unforced errors and hit a healthy number of winners.

The only blip before Ana sealed victory came when she was broken in the fourth game of the second set, but by then the result looked to have been decided.

She was dominant at the net, winning 80 per cent of points played there, and hit 22 winners in total.

World No.58 Vera Dushevina, whom Ana defeated in the first round here last year, awaits in round three on Friday.

特 府 的 「 政 制 綠 皮 書 」 ， 尚 在 諮 詢 ， 行 政 會 議 人 員 、 親 中 工 會 領 袖 鄭 耀 棠 即 作 出 權 威 宣 佈 ： 二 ○ 一 二 年 不 可 能 有 普 選 。 「 棠 棠 」 長 期 愛 國 ， 受 到 中 方 信 任 的 程 度 ， 比 行 政 會 議 其 他 人 與 甚 麼 三 司 十 二 局 等 遠 為 超 班 ， 其 宣 佈 自 當 代 表 中 國 官 方 立 場 。 一 言 定 音 ， 甚 麼 綠 皮 書 ， 畫 皮 拆 穿 ， 有 即 淪 為 「 塌 皮 書 」 之 虞 。 棠 棠 明 明 權 威 踢 爆 皇 帝 身 上 ， 並 無 新 衣 ， 奇 怪 的 是 主 管 普 選 諮 詢 的 林 公 公 還 撐 稱 ： 「 普 選 並 未 作 出 任 何 結 論 」 。 林 公 公 的 職 銜 是 「 政 制 及 內 地 事 務 局 」 局 長 。 論 「 內 地 事 務 」 ， 看 來 棠 棠 等 愛 國 人 士 比 林 公 公 等 更 為 熟 悉 ， 特 區 政 府 必 須 盡 快 把 口 徑 統 一 到 棠 棠 的 立 場 上 來 ， 再 虛 假 「 諮 詢 」 下 去 ， 浪 費 納 稅 人 金 錢 時 間 ， 筆 者 是 納 稅 人 ， 只 想 問 局 長 ， 這 是 怎 麼 回 事 ？ 還 有 一 樣 ： 本 來 叫 「 政 制 事 務 局 」 ， 叫 得 好 好 的 ， 偏 偏 改 為 「 政 制 及 內 地 事 務 」 。 「 內 地 事 務 」 是 特 區 政 府 能 插 手 的 嗎 ？ 山 西 煤 礦 童 奴 事 件 ， 是 「 內 地 事 務 」 ， 林 局 長 管 得 了 否 ？ 還 是 香 港 普 選 問 題 ， 亦 即 「 內 地 事 務 」 ？ 如 此 則 整 個 局 可 以 解 散 。 因 為 「 內 地 事 務 」 的 權 威 不 在 林 局 長 ， 棠 棠 一 開 口 ， 就 把 林 局 長 「 搣 柴 」 了 一 半 ， 真 強 者 也 。

今晚劇情好似感情大表白,陳芷菁對馬俊偉,湯盈盈對張家輝,但全晚主角當然落在蔡少芬同吳啟華既身上,其中一場Paul相約陳慧珊於PUB談及PAul由始至終未有對Jackie表達過任何意思,兩人無論眼神,語氣,對白既抑揚頓挫,都可以話一絕,尤其係陳慧珊最后一句"希望你唔好令我同Jackie失望".仲有尾場一邊播Trademark 既Miss You Finally,一邊flashback Jackie係日常生活中關心Paul,呢D就係我之前所講既"窩心"!最后當然唔少得經典橋段"雨中相遇",連我唔鐘意擔傘都覺得以后要買番把Standby至得.
